Shaykh al-Islām Muhammad b. ‘Abd al-Wahhāb mentioned that one of the Salaf stated:
“Whoever is stingy spending (his wealth) in the obedience of
Allāh will be trialled with spending it in the disobedience of Allāh and in
that which is of no benefit.”
