Al-Ḥasan
al-Basrī (رَحِمَهُ
اللهُ) said:
If Shayṭān looks at you and sees that you are
upon other than obedience to Allāh then he will announce your destruction (to
his followers) and if he sees that you are persistent upon obedience to Allāh
he will become fed up with you and reject you and if he sees that you are, at
times, upon obedience and, at times, upon disobedience he will seek to entice
you with desires.
