The Salaf looked towards piety not the colour of a person's skin or status...

9/13/18, 1:27 AM

Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn Al-Jarrāh said:

“O people! Indeed I’m am from the (tribe of) Quraish, however, there isn’t amongst you a white man or a black man that exceeds me in piety, except that I wish I was in his skin.”

The origin of the act of the people of Lut.

 12/9/14, 9:34 AM

It is reported by Ishaaq ibn Bishr and Ibn Asaakir by way of Muhammad ibn Ishaaq from some of those who narrated  from Ibn Abbaas, may Allaah be pleased with him, who said:

The origin of the act of the people of Lut was that Iblees came to them, whilst they were talking, in the image of a boy who was the most beautiful boy the people had seen, and he invited them to himself. So they had intercourse with him and were thus dragged into (this act.)

What People of Piety Advised One Another When They Met Each Other & When They Were Not In One Another's Company - From Al-Musannaf | Trans by Masjid Al- Furqaan

12/4/18, 6:18 PM

Abu Awn [rahimahullah] said: When the people of righteousness used to meet, they advised one another with three [affairs], and when they were absent [from each other], some of them used to write to others, [saying]: Whoever acts for the sake of the afterlife, Allaah will suffice him with his worldly affairs. Whoever rectifies what is between him and Allaah [i.e. obedience to Allah and fear of Him etc], Allaah will suffice him with the people. And whoever rectifies his secret affairs, Allaah will rectify his outward affairs.

Random Quote of the Day

Shaykhul-Islām Ibn Taymiyah:

“The root cause of the people of misguidance falling into the likes of this distortion (of the meanings of the Quran), is because they have turned away from understanding the Quran as the Sahābah & Tābi’ūn understood it.”

True Foolishness

Yūnus ibn ‘Abdul-A’lā said: I heard Imām Ash-Shāfi’ī say:

If a man were to practice Sūfism at the beginning of the day, Dhuhr will not reach him except that you will find that he has become an idiot.

Great Reminder regarding sins narrated by Dr ʿAbdulilāh Laḥmāmi حفظه الله

ʿAbdullāh b. Mubārak said: 1 I see that sinning kills the heart and committing sins persistently will result in despicableness. Abandoning sins gives life to the hearts and rebelling against sins is better for yourself. Has anything destroyed the religion except evil kings, evil scholars, and evil monks?” 2

****

A few extracts from the lecture Has not the time come for the hearts of those  who believe  to be affected  by Allāhs reminder?

Dr. Abdulillaah says Sins kill the heart so, be careful what your eyes witness and what your ears hear. Shaykh 'Uthaymin (رحمه الله) said, "Whatever you see and hear will enter your heart. So what is it that you see and what is that you hear?" then he mentioned the above quote...

He continues...

Ask yourself, when was the last time you cried?

Ibn 'Abbās said regarding the verse,"Has the time not come for the hearts of those who believe to be affected by Allāh's Reminder?","They were inclined to the dunya and they turned away from the warnings of Allāh."

Their hearts became so hard that they turned to the affairs of this world. They turned away from the remembrance of Allāh, which would soften their hearts, and they did not give importance. They abandoned their morning and evening adhkār (supplications of remembrance), they did not maintain their five daily prayers, they abandoned their adhkār after the prayers and their adhkār before they sleep, their adkhār during the rain, thunder or when they board a form of transport, and as a result their hearts became hardened. However, with regards to the affairs of the dunya, then they are fully aware (and not negligent)...

REMINDERS & QUOTES

The Reason Why A Person Commits Innovation Thinking It Is From The Sunnah

The ʿAllāmah iddīq asan Khān al Qanūjī رحمه الله stated:

And in many cases, a person falls into innovations whilst thinking that in doing so he is actually following the (the Prophet ), and the reason for this is because of him not busying himself with (acquiring) knowledge or asking the people of knowledge.
