The Prophet said:

The one who looks after and works for a widow and for a poor person, is like a warrior fighting for Allaah’s Cause or like a person who fasts during the day and prays all the night.

It is not from Manliness that I inform You (UNNECESSARILY) about my Age

5:02 PM – 11 Jan 2019

It is not from Manliness that I inform You (UNNECESSARILY) about my Age

Ibn Shakwāl (d. 578 h.) said: I read, in the writing of Abul-Hasan ibn Al-llbīrī Al-Muqrī' that he said:

I asked Al-Qādī Abū Zayd how old he was, and he said: I’m not going to tell you my age, because I asked Abū ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn Mansūr At-Tustarī about his age and he said: It is not from manliness for me to inform you of my age. Because I asked my Shaykh, ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhāb Al-Asbahānī about his age and he said: It is not from manliness for me to inform you of my age. Because I asked my Shaykh Ahmad ibn Ibrāhim ibn As-Sahāb about his age and he said: It is not from manliness for me to inform you of my age. Because I asked Al-Mizzī about his age and he said: It is not from manliness for me to inform you of my age. For I asked Ash-Shāfi’ī about his age and he said: It is not from manliness for me to inform you of my age. For I asked Mālik ibn Anas about his age and he said: It is not from manliness that I inform of my age. For when a man informs (another man) about his age, if he is an elder then he will be little him due to old age, and if he is younger then he will be little him due to being young.

How dreadful is the affair of the one who is an arrogant boaster!

Muhammad Ibn Ali Ibn Husayn said:

How dreadful is the affair of the one who is an arrogant boaster! He was created from a drop of semen, then he will become a corpse, & thereafter, he does not know what he will face [i.e. in his grave & on Yawmul Qiyaamah].

Do good deeds vary in their reward?- By the Noble Shaykh Salih bin Fawzaan Al-Fawzaan

HEART SOFTENERS & ADMONISHMENT

The great scholar Salih bin Fawzaan Al-Fawzaan (may Allaah the Most High preserve him) answers:

Question: Do good deeds vary in their reward?
By the Noble Shaykh Salih bin Fawzaan Al-Fawzaan

‘Do good deeds vary between themselves, meaning, if we have two actions of worship, one is more difficult than the other and it is affirmed that they both have the same amount of reward so does a Muslim get the same reward for both of them?’

Answer: ’The reward is not due to the difficulty, the reward is due to the intention and sincerity to Allaah –Azza wa Jal. That a person is sincere to Allaah in an action whether it is difficult or not. It is upon him to make his intention sincerely for Allaah Azza wa Jal- this is where the reward is.’

The meaning of As-Salaamu-Alaikum

5:05 PM, 24 Feb 2019 | @MTWSNC

The meaning of As-Salaamu-Alaikum

The scholar Shaykh Uthaymeen said: ‘As-Salaamu-Alaikum’ is a prayer for safety and security from all harms. When you say to someone ‘As-Salaamu Alaikum’ this means you are praying to Allah that He protects this person from all harms. You are asking Him to protect them from sickness, insanity and mental illness, and the evil of people. You are asking Allah  to protect them from committing sins, the sicknesses of the heart and you are asking Him to protect them from the Hell-fire. Thus this phrase is comprehensive. It is a supplication for the individual to whom you are speaking to receive safety and security from all harms.

Arrogance is a root cause of anger!

Arrogance is a root cause of anger!

Read the explanation of Al-Hāfidh ibn Hajar رحمه الله in Fath-ul-Bāri on the hadith of Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه (hadith no. 5765) wherein Rasūlullāh صلى الله عليه وسلم repeatedly advised a man to not become angry:

Al-Hāfidh ibn Hajar رحمه الله:

“It is mentioned that the meaning of it (i.e. the hadith) is do not become angry because from the main causes of anger is arrogance, due to it (i.e. the anger) occurring when something takes place in a manner that the person did not want, such that arrogance causes them to then become angry.

So the one who humbles himself such that this self-importance (that causes them to want things to happen only how they wish) leaves them, they are saved from the evils of anger.”

Imām ibn Hajar goes on to quote that from the most powerful ways of repelling anger is bringing true Tawhīd to the forefront of ones mind, in realising that there is no controller of actions except Allāh, and that everything else is merely a tool (subject to His decree) such that if one is faced with some harm from another person and they remind themself that if Allāh had willed (this to not occur) then this would not have been possible, then their anger subsides, because if they continued with anger while this is the situation, then in reality their anger is with their Lord –جل وعلا – and this is in opposition to ‘ubūdiyyah (servitude).

Some of the Deeds of The People of Paradise – [By Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah)]

12:40 PM - 23 Dec 2018

Some of the Deeds of The People of Paradise – [By Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah)]

 - Belief in Allaah
- Belief in the Malaa-ikah
- Belief in Books revealed by Allaah
- Belief in Allaah’s Messengers
- Belief in the Hereafter
- Belief in Qadr (the good and bad of it)
- Belief in the Shahaadataan
(i.e. None has the right to be worshipped except Allaah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah)
- Establishment of the Salaah
- Payment of the zakat
- Fasting during the month of Ramadhaan
- Hajj
- Ihsaan
(i.e. to worship Allaah as if you see Him, eventhough you cannot see him, but you know that He certainly sees you);
- Truthfulness in speech
- Fulfilling trusts
- Fulfilling agreements
- Kind treatment towards parents
- Sincerity to Allaah
- Maintaining the ties of kinship
- Kind treatment towards neighbours
- Kind treatment towards orphans
- Kind treatment towards poor people
- Kind treatment towards slaves
- Kind treatment towards animals
- Reliance upon Allaah
- Love of Allaah and His Messenger
- Fear of Allaah
- Hope in Allaah
- Hope for Allaah’s Mercy
- Turning to Allaah with repentance and obedience
- Exercising patience with Allaah’s judgements
- Thanking Allaah for His Blessings
- Recitation of the Qur’an
- Remembrance of Allaah
- Supplicating to Allaah for one’s special needs
- Reliance upon Allaah whilst fleeing away from what one fears
- Enjoining good and forbidding evil
- Striving in the path of Allaah against the disbelievers and the hypocrites
- Keeping good relations with the  one who cuts it off
- Giving to the one who deprives you
- Pardoning the one who oppresses you

Indeed, Allaah has prepared Paradise for those who fear Him – those who spend in times of ease and adversity; those who suppress anger and pardon the people. Allaah loves the doers of good.

And from the deeds of the people of Paradise is that they establish justice in all affairs and towards all the creation, even the disbelievers.

Heartfelt Advice for Every Muslim and Seeker of Knowledge – Shaykh Rabi bin Hadi al-Madkhali

Originally published on 19 Aug 2016 by MASJID DAAR US SUNNAH

Shaykh Rabīʿ bin Hādī al-Madkhalī:

All praise is due to Allah and may the peace and salutations of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah and upon his family, companions and those who follow the guidance. To what proceeds:

Indeed I advise myself and my salafī brothers located in every place – in fact, all of the muslims, to have taqwá of Allah  and to be mindful of Him when in seclusion and in public. I advise myself and them to have serious concern for knowledge, because the people in this time period are in dire need of the presence of scholars; and the presence of scholars is not feasible, unless there are groups of students who dedicate themselves to Islamic knowledge and prepare themselves correctly so as to move up to the level of scholarship, and thus lead the ummah with the Book of Allah and the sunnah of the Messenger of Allah upon the way of the (pious predecessors) salaf al-āliin that which pleases Allah and absolves them from the displeasure of Allah – and who deter the ummah from disobedience and sins and shield the people from innovations and misguidance and falling into prohibited desires –because this ummah was not established except by way of knowledge derived from the Book and the sunnah; and it never prevailed and conquered the world except by way of knowledge and noble character. Character that is derived from the Book of Allah and the sunnah of the Messenger of Allah .

So I advise them to attain knowledge and to exert every effort in that, upon the way of the salaf who were serious about attaining knowledge and would venture across vast distances, (wayfaring) from the east of the world to its west.

A man would travel for the period of a month or two for the sake of attaining one adīth, why?! Because they knew the great value of the knowledge that Muammad came with. I advise them to be sincere to Allah , in their seeking of knowledge – whether it be what they study among themselves or what they get from the scholars of knowledge.

I advise them to have manners and Islamic character and that the elderly have mercy on the young and the young respect the elderly, so that we give life (by being a living example) to what Muammad came with in knowledge, action, character and manners – for indeed (implementation of) these affairs have become very weak and have been degraded completely with some of the deviant groups; there is no praiseworthy character, no manners, no knowledge, and no truthfulness which is very disappointing. We ask Allah to purify the earth of these types of people and to bring about successors of them who are better than them: carriers of knowledge and the true religion, along with righteous actions, and virtuous characteristics.

This is what I advise myself and my dear brothers and I believe that this amount of advice is sufficient for the one who listens attentively and takes heed.

The wisdom behind fasting the 6 days of Shawwal... - Shaykh Uthaymeen

Shaykh Uthaymeen said: The wisdom behind fasting the 6 days of Shawwal is the same as all the other voluntary actions that Allah legislated; to complete the obligatory deeds. So fasting the 6 days is like the sunnah prayers after the salaahs; to complete it from any deficiencies.

The darkness of ignorance, disbelief, and disobedience. And they are countered with the light of knowledge, and the light of Eemaan (faith), and the light of being steadfast (upon the obedience of Allaah).”
