Shaykh al-Islām said,
“ And many of those affiliated with knowledge are afflicted with arrogance, just like many of the people of worship are afflicted with polytheism (shirk). Therefore, the destruction of knowledge is arrogance, while the destruction of worship is showing off (riyā). And these individuals are the ones deprived of the reality of knowledge.”
