The Companion 'Abdullāh bin al S'ad asking of a good ending. O Allāh grant us a good ending

Asking for A Good Ending

S’ad bin Abi Ayoob: Yazeed bin Abi Habeeb informed me that when Ibn Abi Sarh was about to die he was in Ar Ramlah; it is where he fled to from the fitnah. He started to say during the night, ‘Have you reached the dawn?’ so they said, ‘No.’ so when it was the time of dawn. He said, ‘O Hishaam verily I feel the coolness of the dawn so go and look, then he said,

‘O Allaah make the last of my actions the Dawn prayer.’

Then he performed the ablution, then he prayed  reciting in the first rak’ah the mother of the book (sooratul Faatihah) and al’Aadiyaat; and in the other mother of the book and a soorah with it. Then he turned to his right saying the tasleem and when he began to turn to his left his soul was taken; may Allaah be pleased with Him.

Is performing Witr (Prayer with an odd number of units) obligatory?

(Part No. 7; Page No. 172)

The second question of Fatwa no. 6755

Q 2: Is performing Witr (Prayer with an odd number of units) obligatory and is it sinful to only perform intermittently?

A: Witr is a stressed Sunnah that a believer should maintain. Anyone who performs intermittently  is not sinful, but they are advised to observe it regularly. It is permissible to perform Shaf’ (Prayer with an even number of units) during the daytime in a place of a missed Witr, because the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to do so. It is authentically reported on the authority of ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: <If sleep or illness prevented the Prophet (peace be upon him) from Salat-ul-Layl (optional Prayer at night), he would offer twelve Rak’ahs during the daytime.> (Related by Muslim in his Sahih) The Prophet (peace be upon him) would, most times, perform eleven Rak’ahs during the night, offering Taslim after every two, and would conclude them with a single Rak’ah as Witr. If sleep or illness prevented him from doing so, he (peace be upon him) would offer twelve Rak’ahs during the daytime as ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported. Accordingly, if a Muslim is accustomed to perform  five Rak’ahs at night and is prevented from doing so by sleep or any other impediment , they may perform six Rak’ahs in the daytime, offering  Taslim after every two. The same applies if they are accustomed to performing three Rak’ahs, they may perform four  Rak’ahs, performing  Taslim after every two.

(Part No. 7; Page No. 173)

If they are accustomed to performing seven Rak’ahs, they may perform eight Rak’ahs, offering Taslim  after every two.

May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and Companions.

From the Reasons Why Blessings from Provisions like Salaries & Food are Taken Away

From the Reasons Why Blessings from Provisions like Salaries & Food are Taken Away

by Muhaddith, Shaykh, Allamaa’ Muhammad Nasiruddeen al-Albaani

Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya

Abu az-Zubayr said I heard Jabir bin Abdullaah saying that he heard the Prophet –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- saying:

إذا طعم أحدكم فسقطت لقمته من يده فليمط ما رابه منها و ليطعمها , و لا يدعها للشيطان و لا يمسح يده بالمنديل حتى يلعق يده , فإن الرجل لا يدري في أي طعامه يبارك الله , فإن الشيطان يرصد الناس ـ أو الإنسان ـ على كل شيء حتى عند مطعمه أو طعامه و لا يرفع الصحفة حتى يلعقها أو يلعقها , فإن في آخر الطعام البركة

‘If one of you eats and a morsel of food falls from his hand then he should wipe off what he sees from it and eat it.

He should not leave it for the Shaytaan and he should not wipe his hand with a napkin until he licks his hand, since a person does not know which part of the food that Allaah has blessed. The Shaytaan lies in wait for the people –or for a person- for everything even upon the place at which he eats or his food.

The dish should not be taken away until he licks or has it licked, since indeed in the last part of the food there is blessings.

[Collected by Ibn Hibban and al-Bayhaqi & Albaani graded it as Hasan in Saheehah no. 1404]

Shaykh Albaani commented on this hadeeth saying:

‘It is truly regretful to see that many of the Muslims nowadays especially those who have been affected by western habits and European traditions.

The Shaytaan has become strengthened in usurping a portion from their wealth, not with hatred but purely due to their own choice, and that is only due to their ignorance of the Sunnah or being neglectful of it. Do you not see them being separated whilst eating their food upon their dining tables and every single one of them eats by himself –without  any need to- in their own plate. No one shares in that food, not even the person sitting next to him.

Likewise, if a morsel of food was to fall down from one of them, then they see themselves above picking it up, removing the dirt from it and eating it.

There is perharps among them so-called educated ones and philosophers who do not allow this with the claim that it has become polluted with germs and microbes striking against the heart of the hadeeth where the Messengers –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:

فليمط ما رابه منها وليطعمها ولا يدعها للشيطان

‘Then wipe off what attaches itself to [from dust etc] the morsel of food that is dropped and eat it and do not leave it for the Shaytaan.’

Also they do not lick their fingers rather many of them regard that as not having eating/table  manners. This is why they use napkins made of a thin drying material well known as Kleenex at their dining tables.

So you will not find except that one of them has a little smell of food on his fingers and even if there was some food on their lips except that they would hasten to wipe it with a napkin in contrast to the hadeeth.

As for licking the plate, then this means licking what is upon it food using ones fingers, then they see that as improper and completely wrong, they attribute to the person who does this as being miserly or greedy for food, this is not surprising about those who did not hear of this hadeeth so they are ignorant of it.

Indeed what is surprising is those who follow them and flatter them, and they [the non-Muslims] know about those who do this.

Then you find all of them have agreed upon complaining about the decrease of blessings from their salaries and their provisions no matter how large they were, they do not know that the reason for this is indeed them turning away from following the Sunnah of their Prophet and blindly following the enemies of their religion in how they live their lives and their livelihoods.

O Muslims hold on to the Sunnah, the Sunnah.

<<O you who believe! Answer Allaah (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he calls you to that which will give you life, and know that Allaah comes in between a person and his heart (i.e. He prevents an evil person to decide anything). And verily to Him you shall (all) be gathered.>>

[Silsilah Saheehah no. 1404]

In another wording:

Abu az-Zubayr said I heard Jabir saying that the Messenger of Allaah –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said:

إذا أكل أحدكم الطعام فلا يمسح يده حتى يلعقها أو يلعقها و لا يرفع صحفة حتى يلعقها أو يلعقها , فإن آخر الطعام فيه بركة

‘If one of you eats food then he should not wipe his hand until he licks his hand, or has it licked, the dish should not be taken away until he licks it or has it licked, since indeed in the last part of the food there is a blessings.’

[Collected by Nisa’ee and Albaani graded it Saheeh in Saheehah no. 391]

Shaykh Albaani commented on this hadeeth saying:

‘In this hadeeth is a beautiful behaviour from the the obligatory manners of eating food, which is licking the fingers and wiping the dish clean with the fingers.

Many of the Muslims nowadays are free of this behaviour, due to being affected by the practices of the European non-Muslims, and their behaviour which is established on reliance upon materialism and not acknowledgement of its creator and being grateful to Him for His blessings.

So I Muslim needs to be cautious of blindly following them in this so he ends up being from them due to the saying of the Messenger –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam:

و من تشبه بقوم فهو منهم

‘…Whoever resembles a people is from them.’

Indeed I said: ‘…obligatory…’ due to the command of the Messenger –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-with that and his prohibition of not having done it.

So be a believer and fulfill the Prophet’s command –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-and prohibit that which he prohibited from and do not give any consideration to those who mock, those who block the path of Allaah knowingly or unknowingly.’

[Silsilah Saheehah no. 391]

All Praise to Allaah, may His peace and blessings be upon our final Prophet Muhammad, his family, his companions and those who follow his guidance.

The Presence of the People of Falsehood is From the Infinite Wisdom of Allah and His Mercy - Translated by Ustaadh Anwar Wright - Allah preserve him -

Al Allāmah Abdur Rahmān al Sa’dī رحمه الله  said:

“From Allah’s (infinite) Wisdom and Mercy is that He decrees (the existence) of those upon falsehood who contest the truth with falsehood, (which) is from the greatest reasons for the truth becoming clear and the manifestation of its proofs and evidences, likewise that falsehood becomes manifest, and its corruption. This is because the reality (of a matter) becomes clear through its opposite.”

Want to give the devil a seizure? Remember Allaah always and fill your heart with the light of eemaan!

Ibn Muflih al-Hanbalee said:

“The heart that is filled with faith is all light, which has heat, and when the devilish whisper draws close to it, it turns to ashes. It was said that when the remembrance of Allaah is firmly established in a person’s heart, when a devil draw close to it , he has a seizure like those experienced by humans when the Shaytaan gets close to them. Then the devils gather around him and say, “What is the matter with him?” and it is said, “The human over powered him”’’

A Tremendous Statement...Love is of 2 Types...Ibn ul-Qayyim

Love is of Two Types

Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله  said:

[The first being] the love that is the paradise of [this] earth, the rejoicement of the spirit, the gratification of the heart, the bliss of the soul and its nourishment and cure, in fact it is its life and delight. It is love of Allah alone with all of one’s heart, and by drawing out and directing the intensities of one’s attachments, wants and love entirely towards Him.

[The second type of] love is the torment of the soul, the sadness of the spirit, the prison of the heart and the tightness of the chest. It is the cause of pain, bitterness and weariness. It is the love for other than Him – glorified be He.

Mothers who had a miscarriage: What did the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم say about you?

Mu’āth ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه  narrated that the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said:

“By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! The miscarried foetus will pull its mother into Paradise by its umbilical cord, if she patiently awaits reward regarding it.”

Shaykh Ibn Baaz summarises the characteristics of those who will enter into Jannah without reckoning and punishment. - Kitaab at-Tawheed - Translated by Abu Tasneem Mushaf (may Allaah preserve him)

Those who will enter paradise without reckoning and punishment

“So these are the characteristics of the 70,000 (who will enter paradise without reckoning and punishment) :

• They are those who perform the obligated duties

• They abandon those things which have been forbidden including things which are polytheistic

• They rely and depend upon Allaah

• They entrust their affairs with Allaah along with taking lawful means in order to seek sustenance, trade, and various types of lawful medication ‘

• However, they leave that which they require from the people like incantations (ruqyah) or things that may cause a certain pain (e.g. cauterisation) unless they are driven by necessity to do so.

• They also distance themselves from certain lawful matters which have in them certain deficiency (shortcomings).

So Allaah will reward them by entering them into the paradise without reckoning and without punishment.

Do you know whom Allah accepts from?

A man once came to Ibn ‘Umar رَضِيَ الله عنهُ begging, so he said to his son;

‘Give him some money’. ‘May Allah عَزَّ وَ جَل accept it from you my father’ said his son. To which Ibn ‘Umar رَضِيَ الله عنهُ  replied “If  I knew that Allah عَزَّ وَ جَل had accepted even a single  prostration from me or a single charity that I had given, then death would be the most dearest thing to me. Do you know who Allah accepts from?

Is it permissible for children to wear their garments below their ankles? Shaykh Shaykh Sālih al Fawzān

Question: What is the ruling upon young children lengthening/wearing their garments below their ankles?

Shaykh Sālih al Fawzān

Answer: It is not permissible for men/boys to wear their garments below their ankles, because this is ‘isbāl’ in relation to the male. The Prophet Salallaahu alayhi wa Sallam said, “That which is below the ankles is in the Fire.” (Al-Bukhārī)

As for the women, that which is requested from her, is to lengthen her garment in order to cover the feet and heels. It is required from her to loosen her garment from behind to the extent that it covers her heels. However, nowadays the affair has become the opposite. The men lengthen their garments below their ankles, and the women raise their garments and show their shins, or some of them show their legs/thighs, and this is from Shaytān.
